About Us

Laini Fluellen Charities, Inc. was founded in 2009 by a group of breast cancer survivors and the love ones who supported them through their diagnosis and treatment.  We understand first-hand how overwhelming a breast cancer diagnosis can be to both the patient and her (or his) loved ones - there is so much to learn!  The goals of this website are to: (1) give African-American & Hispanic women diagnosed with breast cancer (and their loved ones) the basic information they need to get started on their journey to recovery and healing, (2) administer awareness programs in targeted communities and (3) be a fundraising engine for the research and development of treatments for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) .

The key messages we want to share are:

  • All breast cancers are not alike. It is important that patients know the type, stage and other characteristics of the breast cancer tumor they have to make informed decisions about their treatment options.

  • Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), an aggressive form of breast cancer, affects young African-American & Hispanic women more often than other ethnic groups and can be more deadly than other types of breast cancer.

  • Early detection and treatment are critical to long-term survival of breast cancer patients - especially those diagnosed with TNBC.

  • More Research is needed to develop treatment options for TNBC.

You can support our efforts by:

  • Spreading the word. Share this website with all of your family, friends and co-workers via email, Facebook and other social networks.  The best time to learn about breast cancer is before it affects you or your family members because prevention and early detection are the best ways to beat this disease.

  • Visiting our website regularly to see updated information.  We plan to expand cancer prevention (or reduction of Risk_Factors) information in the near future.

  • Registering for newsletter updates, to be a volunteer and upcoming event notices.

Donating money for the research and development of treatment options for TNBC.  Investing in TNBC research today can save our daughters lives tomorrow.

Thank you for your support and interest in this cause!
